Online Registration for Under Graduate 2023 commences --

Prospective students must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from recognized Board/ University.

Students who have appeared for their 10+2 or equivalent examination and awaiting their final results are also eligible to apply subject to their passing before commencement of the program.

The following is a list of 10+2 level qualifications and their nomenclatures recognized in Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth.

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP): In order to receive the IB diploma, students must complete examinations in six subject areas (3 at HL and 3 at SL) and successfully complete the core requirements including an Extended Essay (EE) of minimum 4000 words, Creativity Action Service (CAS) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). Successful IB diploma candidates receive an IB Diploma and the transcript with Diploma Results stating “Diploma Awarded” listing the total IB diploma points score, the subject grades, the completion of all CAS requirements and individual grades for the combination of TOK and the EE.
  • International Baccalaureate Course (Certificate): AIU shall accord equivalence to IB Diploma Course (i.e. IB Certificate) provided that a student has secured a minimum of 24 credits and has passed a minimum of three subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL).
  • GCE/IGCSE/GCSE: examinations of the approved British Examination Bodies, with Minimum 5/4 subjects in A, B, C Grades including English at ORDINARY(“O”) Level and 2/3 subjects at ADVANCED (“A”)LEVEL has been equated with +2 stage qualification. Candidates intending to join Professional courses are required to have passed the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics in ADVANCED LEVEL & English at AS LEVEL.
  • Candidate having passed Ontario Secondary School Diploma of the Ministry of Education, Ontario should have acquired minimum 6 “U/M“(University Preparatory Courses).

Fill up the online application carefully without missing any details

The candidate should upload the soft copy of the following documents:

  • 10th or equivalent Final Mark sheet.
  • 10+2 or equivalent Final Mark sheet.
    (Both – front and back side of the mark sheet have to be uploaded. If the content in the marks sheet is not in English, then the certified English translated version must also be submitted in addition to the native language certificate.
  • Predicted Score or Pre Board Marks (If awaiting for 12th Final results)
    (A Candidate’s predicted score is an expected score, based on his or her performance on previous examination. Please note Predicted Score or Pre Board Score should be duly endorsed by the Principal of the School on the School Letter Head.)

Note: While applying candidate may not have their final result of the qualifying examination, in this case the candidate should upload Predicted Score or Pre Board Score duly endorsed by the Principal of the School on the School Letter Head. On declaration of the board results the candidate must upload the final result immediately. If the final board result is not uploaded immediately, the application will not be consider for merit list

  • Portfolio (Applicable only for students who wish to apply to Bachelor of Design Programme)
  • 12th Hall Ticket (If waiting for 12th final results)
  • Photocopy of Valid Passport
  • Statement of Purpose
    (Write a description of yourself, stressing those personal qualities, assets and liabilities that you feel will influence your education. Describe what you feel is your most important professional / academic achievement till date. Write your Goals & Objectives of studying at Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth (DPU). (Word Limit 1000 words)
  • Students who wish to apply to Bachelor of Design Programme:
    Why Design career? What are your career goals and future plans? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What are your hobbies? If they are among one/more of these – Painting, Sketching, Drawing, Craft, Model Making, Sculpting, Photography, upload five specimens of your work as visual examples of your hobbies, in high-resolution .jpeg file format by mail to
  • 2 Letters of Recommendations in original
    (The letter must be written by a teacher/ principal who has known you for a period of at least two years. The letter must mention the capacity in which he/she has known the student, the length of time he/she has known the student. The letter should attest the student’s character, capabilities and the track record of achievement and excellence through leadership roles. The recommendation has to be on the school / College/ Institute letter head and duly signed along with the official stamp and seal of the said School/ College/ Institute.)
  • IELTS Score Card/ Proof of IELTS Registration.(Not applicable for NRI students)
  • Payment Proof of Application Fee

Application Fee

Students applying to Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth will have to pay ‘Application fee’ along with their application. Once you complete your Online Application; system will prompt you to make a payment of your ‘Application Fee’.

IELA Examination Fee (if applicable)

Students enrolling for ‘International English Language Assessment (IELA)’ test will have to pay ‘IELA examination fee’. At the time of Online Application, if you click on IELA, system will prompt you about IELA details and accordingly at the time of payment this fee will be added along with your ‘Application fee’. When online application reaches IRC along with the payment of Application fee and all the required documents; DPUIRC will verify uploaded documents and check the requisite qualifications for admission. Application will be forwarded to the Admission Committee for Evaluation. The Admission Committee will shortlist the applications based on the previous academic track record, DPU AIET score (if applicable), English Proficiency Test (if applicable), Statement of Purpose, Letters of Recommendation, CV (Curriculum Vitae).

Selection Procedure :

Admission is based on merit (refer below table as per category) and the Eligibility Norms.
The Admissions Committee will carefully review your application and the supporting documents you provide. If shortlisted, you will be invited for further evaluation.
There are three possible outcomes for your application: offer, waitlist, regret.
You will be informed of the Admission Committee's decision within 15 working days.
Students on waitlist will receive an email from DPU IRC with reference to their status after declaration of merit list.

FN Student

10+2 or Equivalent Transcript - 90%

Statement of purpose- 5%

2 letters of recommendation- 5%

After evaluation by Admission Committee, DPU IRC will send you an email informing about the status of your admission. You will receive an email mentioning any of the following status depending on evaluations done on your application.

Offer Letter: If the Admissions Committee has short-listed your application for admission to Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed University).

Waitlist Letter: If the Admissions Committee has kept your application on hold.

Regret Letter: If the Admissions Committee has not found your application suitable for admission to Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed University).

Letter for Student Visa: DPU IRC will issue a “Provisional Admission Letter” only to the foreign national students who require the Student Visa. This letter is issued only after receipt of administrative and part payment of annual academic fee. Applicant can use this letter as a supporting document while applying for his/her students’ visa at the Indian Mission in his/her country.

Note: The Visa should be student’s Visa and should mention the name of “Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth ”. Any other type of visa is invalid and final admission will not be granted to students who do not have a valid visa. For the interview at the Indian Embassy make sure that you carry relevant documents to prove how you intend to finance your education in India.

On confirmation of first instalment, applicant will be considered as “Provisionally admitted” to Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth. Subsequently, DPU IRC will send you the letter regarding the formalities to be completed at the time of reporting. Before the commencement of the academic program you will have to report at DPU IRC to complete reporting formalities. Students provisionally admitted to out of Pune campuses will have to report to their respective institute to complete the reporting formalities. Kindly check your respective institute information in the prospectus or DPU IRC website for specific reporting date to DPU IRC website and the respective institute.

Medical Test: International students will have to undergo a medical examination. Students will have to collect the Medical Test Form for Medical Check-up from IRC. Medical check-up will be conducted at Dr D Y Patil Medical College and Research centre within the Campus. After undergoing medical test submit the counterfoil of the Medical Test form to DPUIRC.

Accounts Department: Take the confirmation of Fee details from Accounts Department. Pay the balance amount or short fall if any.

Eligibility Formalities: The clearance of the Eligibility is an essential factor for admission to any program of Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth (DPU). The admission will be provisional till the clearance of the same. The student is liable to submit all the necessary documents mentioned above as per the category. Few documents which were not possible to be submitted at the time of reporting must reach Dr D Y Patil International Relation Centre (IRC) by 31st August. Students who fail to submit the documents within the stipulated date will not be allowed to appear for the semester I examination. They may have to forfeit the academic fee and may lose an academic year. Students will have to fill the online Application Form for Eligibility and take a printout.

Submission & Verification of all the required documents with Originals The students are advised to carry all original documents along with 2 sets of attested photocopies. Documents required from Foreign Nationals:

  • 10th Std./Equivalent
  • 12th Std./Equivalent
  • 12th Std. Passing Certificate/ Provisional Certificate
  • Portfolio (Applicable only for students who wish to apply to Bachelor of Design Programme)
  • English Proficiency Test Result
  • Gap certificate (applicable for students with the gap of one year or more) 
  • Migration certificate in Original (in case 12th from Indian Board)
  • Transfer certificate in Original (in case 12th from Indian Board)
  • Passport
  • PIO card (only for PIO students)
  • OCI Card (only for OCI students)
  • Citizen card (only in case of Nepali nationals)
  • Valid VISA (not applicable for Nepal & Bhutan students)
  • Valid Residential Permit (not applicable for Nepal & Bhutan students)

The students provisionally admitted to Pune campuses have to report to DPU IRC on the date mentioned in the prospectus in order to complete the reporting formalities.
